The Products, Claims, & My Review
First Light Priming Filter Instant Complexion Refresh
Claims: Primer claims to brighten, hydrate, and leave the complexion with a fresh, awake look. The product is formulated for all skin types. The primer contains Cool Light Technology which aids in evening out imperfections while the formula also includes ginger to energize the complexion, mineral rich spring water, prickly pear flower, and sodium hyaluronate which enrich the skin with moisture for increased hydration.
My Thoughts: This priming filter comes in a glass bottle with a pump. It has a very light yet pleasant citrus scent to it which dissipates after application. The actual formula has a soft and creamy consistency. To the eye the primer has a light purple tint to it, but when applied is translucent and does give a very soft yet dewy glow to the skin that is immediately noticeable. Before I jump into my opinions of the product keep in mind that my skin type is combination; I have an oily t-zone and otherwise normal everywhere else. With that being said, if you have oily skin, unfortunately, I would not recommend use of this primer in areas where oil is present as this formula will not help keep your skin matte in anyway. For me, I didn't notice the primer helped with the longevity of my makeup wear, but I did test it out on my mom for purposes of this review. For her skin the results were completely different. Upon application her skin was instantly refreshed, hydrated, and had a beautiful, youthful glow. The primer did help with makeup longevity. Now, I would definitely recommend this primer for those that have dry or mature skin. I can attest that this will work beautifully!

Soft Light Blurring Powder
Price: $38, 0.35oz |
My Thoughts: This powder is packaged with a screw top lid and a sifter. The powder itself is finely-milled and did a great job at removing shine without making the skin look flat. It also did a great job blurring out the appearance of pores. I tried this product on two different skin tones; my own skin and my mother's skin which is lighter than mine. The powder blended in seamlessly and I did not notice that the powder left behind a white cast or lighten the appearance of either of our foundation. I definitely agree with Becca! This powder is universally flattering for all skin tones. I would definitely recommend this product. It actually would be a great addition for makeup artists as this would be versatile and could be used on any client that sits in their chair.
Soft Kabuki Brush
Price: $30 |
to achieve a soft yet natural airbrushed finish.
My Thoughts: I definitely did enjoy the quality of this brush, but if you are on a budget like I am $30 is a pretty steep price point. I have you have the cash to splurge and want a nicely crafted kabuki for collection, I would say go for it. If not, I would definitely pass.
Here is a pic of my beautiful mother wearing the priming filter and loose powder applied with the kabuki brush. This duo definitely gave her complexion a evened complexion, blurred imperfections, but still had that beautiful youthful glow! Gorgeous!
Thanks for stopping by!
